Maybe growing up vegetable gardening with my mom, and the pink peonies and red poppies surrounding my grandmother’s house is what created my love for planting a seed and watching it grow. Or maybe it is the smell of the soil or the sun’s warmth inside a greenhouse. It could be the satisfaction I feel when I nurse a sick plant back to life. I do know that all of these things through the years has nurtured my joy for growing green living things. Windswept Prairie Plant truck is my way of sharing that joy.
From her humble beginnings as an abandoned delivery van, Windswept Prairie Plant Truck has blossomed into the beauty that she is today. While it is true, this venture is not all about the truck, it is fair to say that Windswept Prairie would not exist without her.
Long before Windswept Prairie Plant Truck popped through the crusty soil of my imagination, there was a greenhouse. I have felt the need for a greenhouse all my life. There have been several manifestations, some makeshift, some quite nice. At one time they multiplied into a retail nursery. Times when I have been without one, I have felt lost, as one thing is certain, the Greenhouse it where it all begins.
